※ Lithium iron phosphate battery features
01. The most economical and efficient battery
Lithium iron phosphate batteries have a lifespan about 10 times longer than lead–acid batteries of the same capacity and have about twice the energy density per weight.
In addition, there is no memory effect, so there is no loss of capacity, and rapid charging and low natural discharge rate allow for long-term use, making it an efficient and economical battery used in various fields.
02. High safety and durability
It is the safest against fire and explosion among existing batteries and does not emit flammable gases.
Its durability is excellent as there is no loss of weight even in hot summers and extreme winters (-20°C to 60°C).
03. Eco-friendly, non-toxic future battery
Lithium iron phosphate batteries are safe as they are made from eco–friendly raw materials that do not contain high concentrations of sulfuric acid or heavy metals.
In addition, there is no risk of hydrogen gas leaking when overcharging, and performance does not drop drastically in high or low temperature environments, so there is a low risk of explosion.

LiFePO4 batteries offer a significantly longer cycle life (2,000–5,000 cycles) compared to traditional lead-acid batteries (300–500 cycles), depending on usage conditions. They are lighter in weight, support faster charging, and provide more stable voltage during discharge. Additionally, LiFePO4 batteries offer excellent thermal and chemical stability, helping reduce safety risks. Although lead-acid batteries generally have a lower initial cost, LiFePO4 batteries can provide better long-term value through their longer lifespan, higher energy efficiency, and lower maintenance requirements.
LiFePO4 batteries can be connected in series or parallel, but certain safety conditions must be met to ensure stable and reliable operation. Before connecting batteries, verify that they have compatible voltage, capacity, state of charge (SOC), and battery management system (BMS) specifications. For series connections, batteries must be specifically designed to support series operation, and appropriate cell balancing and protection are essential. For parallel connections, the battery voltages should be closely matched before connecting them to prevent excessive equalization currents. Connecting incompatible or improperly balanced batteries may cause current imbalance, BMS protection activation, overheating, battery damage, or reduced lifespan.
Important: Always follow the battery manufacturer’s connection guidelines. Not all LiFePO4 batteries support series or parallel configurations, and connecting them without proper protection can create safety risks.
LiFePO4 batteries require a compatible battery charger with the correct voltage and charging profile. Chargers designed for conventional lead-acid or other lithium-ion batteries may not be suitable, as their charging requirements can differ. LiFePO4 batteries commonly use a CC/CV (constant current/constant voltage) charging method, with a typical maximum charging voltage of approximately 3.65V per cell. The recommended charging current is often around 0.2C to 0.5C, depending on the battery specifications and BMS limits. Using an incompatible charger may cause overcharging, undercharging, reduced battery performance, BMS protection activation, or permanent cell damage. For safe and efficient operation, always use a charger that meets the battery manufacturer’s recommended charging voltage and current specifications.
To maintain LiFePO4 battery lifespan and ensure safe long-term operation, always follow the manufacturer’s recommended charging and discharging limits. LiFePO4 cells typically have an upper charging limit of approximately 3.65V per cell and a lower discharge limit of around 2.5V per cell, although the recommended operating range depends on the battery design. Always use a compatible Battery Management System (BMS) to protect against overcharging, over-discharging, excessive current, and short circuits. Avoid exposing batteries to extreme temperatures and operate them within the manufacturer’s specified temperature range. For long-term storage, maintain an appropriate state of charge (SOC), often around 50%, and store the battery in a cool, dry environment. Periodically check the battery’s condition and follow the manufacturer’s maintenance and cell-balancing recommendations. Proper charging, temperature control, and regular maintenance can help improve battery performance, safety, and overall service life.
LiFePO4 battery charging time depends on the battery’s capacity (Ah), the charger’s output current (A), and the battery’s initial State of Charge (SOC). The approximate charging time can be calculated using the following formula:
Charging Time (hours) = Battery Capacity (Ah) × (100 − Initial SOC)% ÷ Charging Current (A)
For example, charging a fully discharged 100Ah LiFePO4 battery with a 10A charger would theoretically take approximately 10 hours (100Ah ÷ 10A = 10 hours). If the battery starts at 50% SOC, the estimated charging time would be approximately 5 hours. However, actual charging time may be longer due to the CC/CV (constant current/constant voltage) charging process, especially as the charging current decreases near full charge. Battery Management System (BMS) settings, ambient temperature, charger performance, and battery condition can also affect charging time. For safe and efficient charging, always use a compatible LiFePO4 battery charger that meets the manufacturer’s recommended charging voltage and current specifications.
LiFePO4 battery lifespan typically ranges from 2,000 to 5,000 or more charge-discharge cycles, depending on battery quality, depth of discharge, temperature, and operating conditions. With proper care, a LiFePO4 battery can last approximately 5–10 years or longer, although actual service life varies by application and usage. To extend battery lifespan, avoid excessive heat, overcharging, and frequent deep discharging. A reliable Battery Management System (BMS) helps protect against overvoltage, undervoltage, excessive current, and unsafe operating conditions. Proper charging, suitable storage conditions, and regular battery maintenance can help maintain performance and maximize the long-term service life of your LiFePO4 battery.
